Watercolors on Arches 300lb (640g) CP paper

Flowers are not my favorite subjects :( Many times, I’ve wanted to prove to myself I could paint them. But I cannot do it, unless there is...pressure. This was done from a challenge photo on the rookie painter website, deadline is...tomorrow :sprint:

I almost gave up half way through, because my eyes almost went bonkers, first sketching, then painting those crazy petals :dizzy: . I had to keep repeating to myself, that I could do it and here’s the result...

Hope it does not look like “forced labor”, done...under severe stress :D

Thank you for all comments/or favs

It doesn't look "forced" at all, looks great!
I like the background, those little bright points look so cool.

Sorry for the late response, but I've got so many things going on in my life and that slows me down. Growing things is relaxing for many people I've talked to. How I wish I could grow things like you. My fear of insects, and bugs prevents me from working the soil. I just panic when I see them :fear:

I'm glad you think so. Thank you, Brandon for your kind comment. We talked about this before, I am not fond of painting a multitude of petals. But it was a challenge and I had the drive :D

You're welcome!
I don't like painting a ton of petals if they're very similar. I can deal with painting rose petals because each one is so different.

Its looks like a flower in space...because the background is dark with spots thats reminds stars.
what thats mean; ":This was done from a challenge photo on the rookie painter website, deadline is...tomorrow " what do you get if you do that right and in time?

You read my mind. I did want to name it "star gazer" and then I realized stargazer is the name of a type of flower, so I did not want to mislead :D
I love to paint, but feel...lazy at this moment. So that challenge photo gave me the desire to prove to myself I can tackle flowers...anytime, with that little push  "deadline is... tomorrow" means I waited for last minute to have that pressure to paint and finish by that time line. What did I get out of doing it? the...adrenaline rush and the satisfaction I could do it in record time

You can paint what ever you like!!! also flowers!
but you'r probably need something else to push you to paint; pressure, insperation or challenge!

I know I can paint whatever I like, but I like to paint when I have inspiration rather than pressure  Unfortunately, many times it is...pressure to prove to myself...again and again :D
