I just came back from a tour to Scandinavia. Together with a group, we visited many points of interest in Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland. We also made a side trip to Tallinn in Estonia.
The summer weather in Scandinavia this year was not so ideal, so cold, and rainy but the rain always stopped long enough for me to snap some good photos for a souvenir.
In the tour, I had the privilege to meet the sculptor and artist, Bob Lockhart. He used to be a university art professor in Louisville, Kentucky, USA. He is now retired. He spends his time giving workshops in sculpture and wood carving, as well as traveling. What an honor for me to have an art professor as a traveling companion. I told him I was always looking for art classes to improve myself, but when I showed him my works posted on dA, he said that I did not need any more art classes, that it would be better for me to just get together with other artists to paint. According to him, practice is the key to get to the level I would be happy with. He is right; I need to practice. I have been idle for so long because of other matters in life. After the group parted ways, my husband and I flew to Iceland. My husband reunited with his university roommate from Iceland from his student days at UC Berkeley. The weather was pleasant, which gave us an opportunity to join my husband’s friend and his lovely wife for a private tour of some of Iceland’s most famous landmarks. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
I hope you all have an equally good, if not better, summer!
